Juanma Lopez vs. Juan Manuel Marquez @ 130.

Since Lopez is calling out Juan Manuel Marquez, who wins this?

JMM weighed in at 133lbs in his last fight, so let's say he can make 130lbs. without any problems, and Lopez goes to 130lbs.

COMPLETE domination by Juanma Lopez. Multiple knockdowns. Marquez will start whining like his brother about something.

I can imagine the post fight interviews allready.

"I want a rematch, he is a dirty fighter". - JMM

You people make Marquez to be way more than he really is. Dominated from corner to corner by Mayweather. Never had a chance. Rocked by Juan "Impregnated by Malignaggi" Diaz. His best fights were against a very different Manny Pacquiao who was not the elite P4P #1 fighter he is today.

    Juanma by TKO. Easily.

Lopez gets stopped off a brutal counter shot. Just because he beat another Marquez who was fighting at a weight class much higher then his best, doesnt mean he proved he can beat the bigger and better Marquez. He still got rocked by the little old man. Juan has Lopez afraid to throw by about round 4 due to having him so well timed, and its all down hill for Lopez from there. He isnt ready. At least he will have Tito there to console him on how to take his first one sided loss.

JMM was supposed to get dominated by Mayweather. JMM had way too many disadvantages in that fight, I'm not going to list them. The only advantage for JMM that night was that he had the heart to fight Pacquiao, that's it. Everything else favored Floyd. End of story.

Yes, Diaz rocked JMM in that 2nd round, but he quickly recovered and fought back, like he always does.

I agree that JMM is best known for giving hell to a beta version of Pacquiao. The Pacquiao of 130lbs was still green, and a bit drained in my opinion.

But let's look at the Rafael Marquez vs. Juanma Lopez fight. As chinny as Rafael is, I did not expect him to take Lopez's punches as well as he did. As a matter of fact, we saw Rafael hurt Lopez a few times. There was also the shoulder injury that he claimed he had before the fight.

Lopez went through hell versus a battle worn, older, and smaller Rafael.

Compare Rafael to his brother Juan Manuel Marquez. Marquez is probably just as big or bigger than Lopez at this point. Marquez is not as battle-worn as Rafael, even though he is older, due to his pure boxer style during most of his career, which enabled him to not take as much damage. Older Marquez is also more skilled in the counter punching department that Rafael. I know back then, Rafael was considered the harder puncher P4P than JMM, but it seems JMM is hitting harder as he moved up in weight. Comparing chins, I believe JMM has the better chin. Sure Pacquiao floored him 4 times, but his heart enabled him to prevent getting KO'd. An A+ level heart with a B level chin is still a deadly combination.

JMM stops Lopez in the late rounds.

I like your analysis, though I don't fully agree with it.

Rafael took Juanma's punches well because Juanma was very aware of the counterpunching abilities of Marquez. He was not moving forward as aggressively as he has done in the past (example, when he literally ran/pushed Concepcion into a knockdown). So his usual pop was not there.

As the fight progressed, Juanma was more comfortable, while Rafael was less effective. Rafael had a good 4th because Juanma had yet to shorten his punches, and was not using the uppercut. Once he, instead of putting his hands on top of Rafa's head every time Marquez lunged forward, started to punch him to the body/uppercut him, it was over. Then he shortened his punches a bit, and effectively neutralized his counterpunching.

JMM is very similar to Rafa Marquez, skill and tactically-wise.

Ring Magazine P4P are flawed and biased. See: Mosley, Chad Dawson, J.M. Marquez, Nonito (even though I am a fan, he is not that high in the P4P, yet), etc.

Just like his brother did. Right?

JMM was rocked by light punching Diaz, floored three times by a non "Top Of The World, Non Plus Ultra" version of Pacquiao - IN ONE ROUND.

This is NOT 2008. Wake up.

Diaz was a bigger man also. He also got knocked the **** out. Pac floored Marquez three times in one round. Alot of people think Juan went on to win that fight. Ended up a draw. Pac has more speed and power then Lopez as well.
