"Marquez told me that he wants the rematch, and if his promoter and my promoter agree and it's a good business, of course we can make a rematch. Marquez is a warrior, he's not finished as some people think, and he deserves a rematch."

"It was a great fight against a great fighter that hit me with some good shots, specially in the 4th round, but I was able to recover and get the victory. Marquez is a great puncher and he couldn't drop me. I showed that not only I can punch, I know how to box, I can take a punch, and above all, great condition. I also showed that I'm with the worlds best and I'm the best 126 pounder in the world, not Gamboa."

I hope you are right because that would be some straight cowardly low life ****.

Rafa deserves all the respect in the world for what he has given the boxing world.

It's ****** because it's obvious that Lopez would have liked to get Rafa out of there as early as possible. You can't acknowledge a guy as the most dangerous opponent of your career in one breath and then claim you would have been happier to go 8 rounds than to end it inside 2 or 3 in the next.

The relief on Lopez's face as he sunk to his knees at the end tells you something about the fight. That wasn't just elation, he was glad there was no 9th to go out for. As much as he may have been punishing Marquez, he was getting hit with big shots in reply and didn't finish in that great of a shape himself.

All the bravado and playing to the PR public with loudmouth boasts will catch up to him down the line.

Did i miss something? Why is everyone acting like this was a HUGE victory for LOPEZ? If anything it just showed how vunerable he was. Why is Lopez acting like a putz?

Marquez came up two division and still wobbled Lopez
Hyporcrites listen, either way you look at the shoulder injury, the man fought on as much as he could...much like Cotto did against Margarito. Niether of them should be faulted. Marquez is a great champion. Give respect and keep it moving.

This fight at face value? Doesn't mean much, Lopez has to fight Gamboa or Caballero. Arum better make true to his promise! Then we will see what Lopez is about. Trust.
