How is boxing a dirty business?

I was just talking to a pretty successful boxing publicist and he said the following things :

    "Its a dirty business"

"Its a messed up business, if you become involved you'll find out"

I then asked how and he said

    "You'll see.."

I know theres prob a bunch of scumbags in boxing ect, but what do you think he ment by this?

He also told me "starting young is good but dont expect to make a good career out of this"

    Thoughts?

last night the crooked up and over priced referee was giving Juanma a break in the 4th round and took him a point away right after Rafael got Juanma hurt......................WTF

thats not the best example, and its a short notice, but what I hate the most is refeeres who make good fights ugly. blahhh
