A guy his own size ,shot and can take a punch? well Juanma is 5' 51/2 and Rafa is 5'5" ,they both weight 125.5, who are you to say he is shot because he looked great in his last fight and looked good last night also just got outpowered, and he also has a good chin so quit taking from Lopez win,when Calderon lost I could have said the same things you are but I gave his opponent all the credit he deserved.JuanMa is a Ko waiting to happen in my opinion but until the let the kid enjoy his glory

At least they had the excuse that they were fighting each other to determine who was the best in the division. Caballero and Lopez fighting each other after Marquez and Vasquez beating the hell out of each other were for those same bragging rights and Lopez bitched out and moved up and fought a vulnerable title holder who barely beat the great Terdsak Jandaeng.

lopez has only been on the championship level what 2-3 years?

it's to be expected his promoter takes it slow.

even protecting him , he has a damn good resume for a young fighter.

what 3 wins over the current top 10 at 126? not including 1-2 guys who were top 10 a few months ago at 126 but no longer there.

Marquez did notttt look shot. I thought he would, he was on his toes and had great body movement, i would support him continuing to fight but theres no need to.

His legs are definitely not what they were.

Not shot, but quite past his best. Like Morales when he beat Pacquiao, you could tell he was way past his best from the legs.


It's a testament to Rafa and a slight embarrassment to Lopez that this diminished version could give Juanma all kinds of hell. But that's what I thought beforehand, that Marquez even at 3/5 of his best could be a nightmare for Lopez. Without an injury, who knows.

To be fair, after last night Lopez probably does have a better resume than Caballero. But up until then, it was about even. Lopez gets nothing from me until he fights him though. That's all.

Yeah BUT juanma is a YOUNG warrior. Rafa and juan are veterans thats normal. Thats why i love juanma, for a young fighter hes got so much heart

I think this boy hasn't seen much of Marquez or know much about him for him to be saying this kind of thing.

Talent and championship mettle was what Rafa was mostly going on last night. He still looked physically fit but his speed and reflexes aren't even close to what they once were.
