Puerto Rico.... Juan Ma is your new real deal! Cong****.
Rafa is thirty five and started to look it pretty quickly. I don't know how much the shoulder played a part early on, but he stopped moving very quickly and it wasn't because of any body shots from Lopez.
If it was a young, genuine FW with similar power he probably could have put Lopez down or stopped him even. From that performance though I think it's still possible for Rafa to pick up a trinket from someone. He's obviously well past his best, but what he's capable of now might just be enough to nick a fight from someone who can't match his experience and skill.
You could really see the age creep up on him though. He was having good success with moving and countering Lopez but just couldn't keep doing it for any length of time and the size difference was really great and I'm sure that alone wore him down even more.
I'm sure Rafa is a strong puncher at FW still, but with his small size, old age and the slowing of those punches I was still surprised he was able to hurt and stagger Lopez that much. One thing though: Lopez will continue to make really good fights for as long as he fights. He's a big puncher, with good volume, has good skill, likes to trade and can be hurt, dropped and easy to hit. What's a better recipe for great fights?

He was also less offensive.
I would be an interesting match-up.
JMM is a brilliant fighter and he would figurer Lopez out.
So yes I favor JMM by UD.
At 126 he was also very, very fast and his combinations would have Lopez in serious trouble. I can see lead right hands and left uppercuts followed by left hooks and counter left hooks taking Lopez unaware and putting him out late in the fight.
Would have been fun but Marquez was too good for Lopez at 126.

It ****** to see Marquez go out like that, but we all saw it coming. Lopez is just a young tank. Marquez was too past it, and too small to beat a guy like that. He tried and did rock Lopez once. That gave me a little bit of hope, but you could see how the fight was going really early on. I called it, we all did. But cong**** to Juanma.

Juanma got hit in the chin unfortunately, Rafael Marquez can't pull the trigger!
In his previous fight Juanma got knockdown by B. Concepcion, which means to say that Juanma can survive knockdown.
Hopefully, Juanma will square off with Cuban Gamboa!
If he hardles Gamboa, Juanma should go up Jr Lightweight division on his way on top for the best PFP in the near future.

Thats one thing I don't understand about Juanma...Cotto is sometimes the same way but not as cereless. Lopez was easily outboxing Marquez with his Jab, countering with hooks, and his occasional right hand but decided to stay there and trade for some reason. Ask Cotto about the consequences of having a good fight by boxing and going a totally different direction by brawling with your smaller opponent
