All these idiots saying he quit. Lol. It's legitimately laughable. Forget the damn shoulder. Whether or not he was injured. He was outmatched tonight. He fought a hungrier, younger, bigger, faster man tonight. It happens. Everyone loses.
Rafael Marquez did for 9 rounds what most people in the world wouldn't do for 9 seconds. At some point, he or his body or both couldn't take it anymore. He's had his time.
It happens.
Now, shut up, ****.Comment

If you were ringside for this fight, you got your money's worth.
No man needs to risk permanent injury for your entertainment. Sorry, doesn't work that way.
He's paid well to risk his life, but only to a certain point. There are limits, in EVERYTHING.Comment

I agree to a certain extent. There are injuries serious enough that the pain would be nearly unbearable and the handicap would put you at a very high risk of being seriously hurt. So I think there are certain instances where it is justified, I just don't think this was one of them.
I mean if a lazy bum like Shannon Briggs could stand up to Vitali for 11 rounds (allegedly if you believe it was hurt in the 1st) with a torn bicep then a so called warrior like Marquez should have been able to finish this fight.Comment

so you would expect somebody to possibly end their career so you get an extra few minutes of entertainment?Comment

if rafa did have an injury before such a big fight as this, he should've just postponed the fight.
No one said Froch was a coward for postponing the fight w/ Abraham.
Rafa imho just thought he would give people enough of a war to want to see the rematch. Rafa just wants to get paid, but juanma is promoted by a real promoter, unlike vasquez. Arum already has plans past Rafa.Comment
