At the end of the last round, tony weeks grabs marquez from the same arm that he claims was hurt & NOT ONCE DID MARQUEZ WINCE IN PAIN OR GIVE A REACTION.

Then later on, he puts on a hat WITH BOTH HANDS. HE RAISES BOTH HANDS TO PUT ON A WHITE CAP & IT DID NOT APPEAR HURT OR GIVE A REACTION.

Then during the interview, rafa puts both of his hands & adjust his hat. He was absolutely faking a injury or the severity of it. First he was hurt, then now he says he was hurt BEFORE THE FIGHT, THEN HE SAYS HE WAS HURT IN THE THIRD ROUND.

It was only a matter of time befor lopez got to him. It seemed like rafa was hurt in every round & his legs was ready to go from under him every time lopez hit him.

Let me just say i was rooting for rafa to win, i was rooting my ass off when he almost knocked down lopez the first time, but I JUST LOST COMPLETE & TOTAL RESPECT FOR RAFA AFTER THIS.
that one of the lamest things i've ever read. if you know anything about marquez, you know he will go in there and go out on his shield, he has no problems sacrificing himself going for the win and keeping his pride intact, but he's not a dumb fighter by any means, he was losing and was getting hit a lot, but he also was landing good counter shots while getting tagged, but, R. Marquez isnt going to go back into the ring at a physical disadvantage against a guy that can KO him, all while he was getting the sheit end of the stick in the exchanges.

it's easy to say he wasn't hurt and it's easy to say he quit and has no heart, thats because you have no idea what he's is/was going through, and you're not getting hit and you're not in giving it your all, all you're doing is being ignorant and disrespectful. thats fine and all, you have no class, we get that, but until you have a real shoulder issue, you'll never know the extent of what R.marquez was going/went through, because there are many issues that can araise within the shoulder, from tendons to rotator cuff, ball joint issues, etc. some don't limit certain motions, but it can be enough to make it so he can't defend himself, or can't throw out a punch without pain or slowing his hand speed, etc. it'd be pleasant for once to see some respect for a blood and guts fighter who has never dogged anything in his life and ALWAYS GIVE THE FANS THEIR MONIES WORTH!!!! for ****sake!

Now flip the script & if that was lopez that did the same exact thing, you would be bashing & saying the same thing i would be saying.

        You shameless jack.

Rafa has already proven is warrior status so he gets the benefit of the doubt. Lopez is a neophyte who hasn't proven his warrior status yet and on top of that, quitting is in his blood because he's Puerto Rican.

          Apples and oranges.

GTFO with that *****esque double standard jack. Yes, marquez is a proven warrior, just julio cesar, but both of them quit & used injuries when getting bashed late in their careers in order to keep their pretentious "mexicans never quit mantra" which is a buncha foul asss BS.

These guys aint robots, they all have their breaking point.

Until you show me evidence of genuine quittage, I concede nothing.

As far as I know, Rafa is injured.

Don't call me *****esque either, my comparison was totally valid.

Bump this thread for my pwnage if there are reports of rafa getting surgery.

I doubt it. He quit & used the phantom injury in order to have a reason for a rematch. If he went out on his shield, he would have been done as a big time event fighter. With the shoulder snafu, he gets to say im not done, i can still get a big fight, hence money. rafa is in the cashing in stage of his career.

For a conspiracy theorist specialist, you sure are turning a blind eye to this.

i hear ya, i was a bit upset at the start of the thread, but, you make a semi decent objective point, but R.Marquez wasn't going to go back into the ring with anymore disadvantages, from war torn, to being smaller, older, and now a hurt shoulder(extent unknown) but i just wanted to say, that one doesn't need surgery to fix any or all shoulder problems. i know from my own experience and two of my closest friends had shoulder injuries, just took time and limited usage............

rafa is all about cashing in now. he's at the tail end of his career. Saying he had a shoulder injury keeps him a viable option for another big money fight next year. Arturo Gatti kept on fighting with a shoulder injury. That scumbag floyd continued fighting with a torn rotator cuff (allegedly), so why not rafa? His PHYSICAL ACTIONS after the fight show that he greatly exaggerated his injury.

I just feel like he tried to take away from lopez's victory last night.

Great fight. Rafa gets respect, period. Rafa protected his "health" by not coming out in the 9th round. I was surprised he lasted the last 2. You don't need to be dumb to be a warrior. Rafa knew it was futile to keep fighting.
