Comments Thread For: Juan Manuel Lopez Retains, Stops Rafael Marquez

Las Vegas - At the MGM Grand, Juan Manuel Lopez (30-0, 27KOs) retained his WBO featherweight title with a stoppage of Rafael Marquez (39-6, 35KOs) after eight rounds of exciting action. Marquez seemed to suffer a shoulder injury and could not continue after eight rounds, but Lopez was really coming on the last few rounds.

Yell I can tell by the way he went down on a knee like Cotto n Calderon...

...oh wait. lopez has to fight gamboa or pelechin, if he doesnt then hes a certified baby back b!tch. all the young champs had to face a legit, prime champion. oscar with ruelas, vargas vs winky, even tito vs campas. he got his "Money fight" with a worn n torn veteran, time to prove what hes made of when hes in with a prime elite fighter.

Shame it ended that way, but I still think it's a FOTY contender because that was some seriously fantastic action happening. It would have been a lock if Marquez didn't get injured.

Anyone calling Marquez a quitter, shut the f**k up.
