    BoxingScene.com was advised that former champion Paul Spadafora has parted ways with trainer Pernell Whitaker. Spadafora (44-0, 18KOs) has reunited with former trainer Jesse Reid, who is training him for the scheduled fight with Diego Jesus Ponce at the Mohegan Sun in Uncasville, Connecticut. Spadafora hired Whitaker last June. Spadafora's promoter, Michael Acri, tells BoxingScene that Whitaker has not communicated with them for several weeks.

              not totally true.

              I think its messed up how Jessie Reid is getting the pub as training Paul when the guy really working with him is Al Zuck from Erie pa...they are literally bringing in Reid at the last second and al gets no credit...not right !

                  This is sad to me. I was excited to hear about this partnership. It seemed like a rebirth for both of them. I was further dismayed to see the lack of response report for Sweet Pea. I hope that does not mean personal trouble for him. Too much bad endings from this sport.

                    Soon as I saw they hadn't heard from Whitaker in weeks I thought "coke" would very happy if I am proven to be wrong.
