    Saleta vs McCall

The odds for Saleta at Bet365 are +200. Does anyone think he can beat McCall? McCall is not the same McCall of the 90's anymore, why is he such a heavy favorite?

It means 2/1 odds. If you bet 100 dollars and won you would get a profit of 200$.

If it was -200 then you would get a return of 80% of what you wagered as a return. So if you wagered 1000$ at -200 you would win 800$ in profit.

so if you wager 100$ and you win you get your 100$ back and another 100$.

Exactly. Are you taking this bet boxingfanguy? I'm not too familiar with Saleta but how bad can he be not to beat an aging McCall.

I have only seen Saleta once and have not seen McCall since the mid 90's so I would not bet on this fight. Not if they are only giving 2-1. If they were giving like 4 or 5 to 1 maybe I would take a bet on a longshot.

            What does the following mean?

            "14 Aug 02:00 -250 Hasim Rahman V Monte Barrett +200 more"

According to your interpretation, suppose you put both 100 on HR and another 100 on MB, you win either 250 or 200 and loose only 100, so you make either +150 or +100. Sounds impossible, so there should be some other way to read these numbers.

            What does -250 then mean?

Yepp I never liked figuring out the numbers, I just put it in and then saw how much I would win.

BTW, the complete odds on the fight, with all 3 different systems:

              -275 Oliver McCall V Przemyslaw Saleta +200
              1.36 Oliver McCall V Przemyslaw Saleta 3.00
              4/11 Oliver McCall V Przemyslaw Saleta 2/1

I guess the fractional odds are the best. 2/1 is easy to understand right? So is 4/11.

-250 means you get 75% of what you wager. If you wager 1000$ you get a profit of 750$. +200 like I said if you wagered 1000$ you would get a profit of 2000$.
