In this interview (and in others), he uses the excuse that he wasn't ready for a left hander.

Before the the first martinez fight though, Paul williams said this in an interview.

To me when I get on the ring, I don't care if they're right handed or left handed, I just fight them. Sometimes I don't know if they're right handed or left handed, but as long as I keep my head moving and keep my head in that swivel, I aint got no problems

I like the fact that he didnt make any excuses for the Quintana lose, Which most fight would normally do after a year or so. If him and Martinez go through another bruising fight like the first one then whoever takes either of them on next is a lucky boy..
And i hope this fight raises both fighters profile up with casual fans.

With a height of 6'2", Paul is considered extremely tall for the three divisions he campaigns in: welterweight, jr. middleweight and middleweight.
all the fighters he fought and defeated are small such as Winky Wright, Sergio Martínez, Kermit Cintron, Carlos Quintana, Antonio Margarito.

He’s also been calling out lately smaller fighters such as Pac and Floyd. I hope he calls out legit fighters in Super middleweight, Light heavyweight, Cruiserweight, and even Heavyweight. Till then, I am a no believer.
