That's just the overtime/behind the scenes. Here's the preview for the actual story:

***** is the lead piece, which means it will get HUGE ratings.

Interesting to boxing fans, but not as interesting to the more casual fans.

See the link I posted, the OP just linked the OT stuff they do which is the extra behind the scenes look. The actual story/piece will be different.

This is Pacquiao's coming out party to the mainstream.

Yeah I saw it. The whole feel of the show isn't really suited to hype up fights which 24/7 is intended to do.

60 minutes routinely gets 12+ million viewers and it will be even more tonight since ***** is the lead. 24/7 only gets a small fraction of that. Only athletes at the pinnacle of their sports are featured on the show- Michael Jordan, Tiger Woods, Serena Williams, Lebron James, and now Pacquiao. If 99% of the people who watch the show don't buy the card, that's still 120,000+ additional buys from the exposure.

De La Hoya's feature on 60 minutes is part of what propelled him into being boxing's biggest star for the majority of the last decade. This is huge for Pac's profile in the mainstream.

yep, 60 minutes is huge because it's on primetime on a sunday.

When millions of people (majority probably being senior citizens and middle aged- adults) are watching tv because they have nothing better to do.

The probability of a non-boxing fan stumbling onto pacquiao while he's flipping channels and becoming interested in his story is very likely. There's an even higher probability of people who just heard about Pacquiao from people talking become interested in what he's about and watch his story.

Primetime is where people get really famous. (youtube is the other place)
