Predict how many PPV buys Rahman-Barret does

I did some quick research on how many PPV buys all of HBO's 2005 PPVs have done and the Tyson-McBride fight as well. Here is what I found (gross profit in parentheses):

    Trinidad-Wright 510,000 buys ($25.5 million)
    Hopkins-Taylor 350,000 buys ($17.5 million)
    Morales-Pacquiao 350,000 buys ($15.75 million)
    Gatti-Mayweather 325,000 buys ($14.625 million)
    Tyson-McBride 250,000 buys ($12.5 million)

I do not think that tonight's PPV will come anywhere close to even the Tyson fight. I am guessing it will do about 100,000-125,000 buys, which still grosses $4-5 million. Will grossing $4-5 million make this PPV a success?

It depends on how much they put into the PPV. The Klitschko/Williams ppv was a failure because HBO put alot of money into it and it did failing numbers so they took a huge loss.

Do you really think it will be that low? I am really hoping for a low number, but I think 30,000 is really low balling it. I want it to be a failure. If 75,000 is break even, I want it to do 60,000.

My range would have to be between 125,000 and 150,000. Mayorga is a draw and some people would want to tune in to see him fight.

I really hope that Don King gets ruined by this ppv. He kept complaining how HBO wasn't promoting his fights, well this event is being promoted very well and if doesn't sell we will see what his excuse this time will be.
