Lewis vs Vitali, one of the best heavyweight fights?

At least in the last 25 years in my view. Pure excitement through all six rounds.

Definitely. You watch that fight and you begin to respect Vitali for the first time.

It so controversiall I see it going either way. Sometimes I see it and I feel sorry for Vitali as he was landing so many punches and the fight got stopped and the ovation.

Other times I watch it and come away thinking Lennox was coming back into the game and was just beginning to destroy him.

Then the way Vitali is jumping around at the end you see he is in top condition and Lennox is gassed...its 50/50

The uppercut that Lewis landed would have KO'd any other heavyweight. Vitali just ****** it up and was clearly winning the fight.

yeah everyone seems to see a different fight when they watch that, ive seen people just dismiss it as lennox "ripping vitalis face off" but more often vitali "exposing lennox" in the end you had two guys, one not yet his his prime (at least judging by physique), one at the tail end of his career, taking a fight on a couple weeks notice, both running into a brick wall they hadnt run into up to that point and would never run into again. Very good fight but I wish it had ended more decisively. Lennox won on paper, Vitali in material reality.

I don't feel like this was a controversial decision, when I Guy is cut that bad he can't safely continue , it's a TKO end of story

I haven't watch the fight in a few years but last time I did I thought it was great and I agree one of the best HW fights in years. Vitali was winning but I thought Lewis was coming on. He looked gassed but seriously, with that cut, I don't know how VK could have gone on much longer.
