# Sulaiman is a drama queen. I think this has happened other times. Hope it sticks, but by Thurs I figure he'll be re-elected unanimously. 10 minutes ago via web

Sadly theres no official news. I hope its true this is the most recent story from a decent news source on the convention (and Sulaiman quitting is the kind of news Reuters would report):
However that news is a day old but if ths little rattle thrown out of the pram incident is true I hope the other heads in the room do NOT buckle and beg for Sulaiman and King to come back and talk. People should immediately elect a new President and set about organising the WBC properly.http://ca.reuters.com/article/sports...6A106N20101102

CANCUN, Mexico (Reuters) - The World Boxing Council wants to eliminate what they called exploitation of boxers by creating a document that lists a fighter's key information like injuries and total rounds fought.
Speaking at a conference in Cancun, Mexico, long-time WBC president Jose Sulaiman said the passport-type document would list a boxer's classification, medical authorization, weight category, quality of opponents and total rounds fought.
Sulaiman, who said the document would apply to 164 nations affiliated with the WBC and would be up to boxing commissions to enforce, feels the information would eliminate mismatches and prevent boxers from fighting when injured.
"The pirates of the gymnasiums leave taking boxers without authorization or any medical examination," said Sulaiman, who has been WBC president for nearly 35 years.
"They take a featherweight and make him fight against a welterweight. They put a boxer who's been constantly loosing against a winner, or a fighter who's been medically suspended."
Sulaiman, who helped introduce several safety measures in boxing, including reducing world title fights to 12 rounds from 15, said a boxing passport would eliminate any abuse if the world's boxing commissions demand it be presented.

I heard Sulaiman took his job back an hour later. And no I'm not kidding and that's why only one place is running this story so far.Comment

Mandatory Challenger: Winner of upcoming fight between Ajose Olusegun and Ali Chebah. Regarding the WBC/WBO unification fight vs. Tim Bradley in January 29, 2011, the WBC will only recognize Alexander as WBC/WBO champion if he wins, but not Bradley if he wins. This stems from Bradley opting to relinquish the WBC belt prior to his unification with then WBO champ Kendall Holt.
