why is it so crazy to believe that?

I'm not saying who would win, but I think it would be a good fight. Let's not forget Clottey gave Cotto all he can handle, destroyed Judah and a good fight with Margarito. That's FAAAAR better then Berto ever did in his career.

I think it's a good match up and an interesting one. Clottey's two losses have been against volume punchers. Berto isn't a volume puncher.

I don't think it's a popular fight though that would do decent ratings, so I'm sure it will never happen

even if hbo drops him, berto already took more money from hbo than what he deserved. hbo has only themselves to blame, they took a gamble on berto and it didn't paid off. they put too much trust on berto's management...al haymon in particular.

Clottey didn't even come close to destroying Judah. If you think that, you didn't watch the fight. Good fight against Margarito, until he stopped fighting because of a broken hand that wasn't broken. Typical Clottey. Clottey is no different a name on Berto's resume than Collazo or Quintana. No one's gonna care when he's done with him.

lol what? did YOU watch the fight? Zab was on the verge of being KTFO and quit so it would go to the scorecards and still lost. He was losing bad, man. Zab did good for like two rounds.

Again, volume punching. Many people thought he beat Cotto remember? Cotto was getting murdered in some of those middle rounds, it was hard to watch as a Cotto fan. It was very, very close fight. That's better than anything Berto has ever done.

Yes it is better than anything Berto has done. When Berto is 33 years old, maybe we can then make that comparison between them? Judah-Clottey was a close, boring affair until a headbutt ended the fight. No one was getting destroyed.

It's good to see a network finally say "Enough is enough." And they're right. Berto's not a prospect anymore, he's just a guy who hasn't fought the big one.

This article is old. The "big fight" is against Victor Ortiz. They are lining up Matt Hatton for him next.

yeah but it was their fault to begin with by allowing Haymon to control the talent content of their boxing programming in the first place. This allowed weak opponents such as Freddy Hernandez to be on TV while Berto raked in 7 figure paydays

Greenberg and Davis ran HBO's boxing poorly for years and once they realized their asses were on the line they choose to NOW call fighters like Berto to the floor.
