So was Tyson "afraid" of Holyfield and was trying to "sabotage" the fight, by asking this?

Edit: For those who will come in here spewing fake shit, here's actual quotes from the book The Holyfield Way.

"There was a prior hint of this defeatist attitude a few weeks earlier when Marc Ratner, the executive director of the Nevada State Athletic Commission, called to tell me that Tyson would not fight Evander, unless he took a steroid test.
This did not bother me at all, because I knew with certainty from many talks with Evander on this topic, that he had never used steroids. Evander told me some people urged him to use steroids, especially when moving up to the heavyweight division.
Evander always refused for one reason: he would never have known whether he could have done it without the steroids. I wasn't worried about the test, and I knew a refusal would be taken as evidence of guilt. On the other hand,
Tyson had no probable cause to request such a test and absolutely no right to require one as a condition for the fight going forward. I discussed this with Evander, who came up with a brilliant solution. He said that he would take the test provided that the results would not be revealed to Tyson, until after the fight"

Holyfield-"I laughed when Tyson was demanding that I take a steroid test. I saw Tyson's look when he saw me with my shirt off at the weigh- in for the last fight. He couldn't believe how big and muscular I had become from how hard I trained. I knew he must have convinced himself that I had won the fight cheating somehow, because he couldn't face the fact that I was just stronger than him. I was happy to take a steroid test, because I have never used steroids in my life, but I didn't want Tyson to have comfort of knowing that I was not using steroids. I wanted Tyson to continue to think that I had an unfair advantage over him so he would give himself an excuse for losing again."

Now stfu with fake ass shit about Holyfield saying no
Tyson was not afraid and is never a ducker, he was just beginning to doubt himself, in the end it cost him the win...

          1) The tests Pacquiao agreed to were stricter than the tests that Holyfield agreed to - and stricter than any professional boxer had ever agreed to up to that point.

          2) Tyson did not publicly accuse Holyfield of cheating.

The tests Holyfield agreed to were stricter than any tests back then. That wasn't so hard...seeing as how they didn't have steroid testing back then.

            2. No he didn't. He merely called him a headbutter and made every excuse under the sun. Either way, not really relevant, DR.

Just look at Evander's body, especially in his second fight vs. Tyson. Guy was a roided freak.

pac has superstitious belief that he would be weakened by taking blood from him on a closer date fight. thats one reason i see. and pac wouldnt wanna doubt himself come fight night. (holyfield has no belief on that thats why he took the test). or probably these two camps are vying tyo have a mental edge over the other.

                  you may ask why?

if floyd is really su****ious then why give pac 14 day-cut off period? where pac can have a chance to take steriod. ( i say compromising is not a good idea when your su****ious because it means you compromise your belief and compromising ones belief means bigotry)

this two boxers are superstars that have huge egos. who both think they dont need each other. to think, floyd is the one who come out of retirement just to fight pac and he is the one asking ofr such demand.

during the second negoatiation, you may ask then why pac agreed on a closer fight schedule of blood test.

floyd against JMM is real impressive performance of domination. however, i dont wanna discredit floyds win against an aging mosley, so let somebody do it for me. but team pac believes floyd has slowed in his feet and was never the faster floyd. floyd on the hand could have felt that way too.

team pac said they agreed on a 7-day cut off, which i do think pac has a belief that he can beat floyd, based on his last performance.

and thats how i see it.

Of course Mike was scared. He lost to Evander twice. He obviously had something to be scared about. The question is, was random blood testing involved? If it was a one-time testing, ****, Pacquiao and Mayweather goes under that every fight. Did he get a blood test? For all we known, Mike just had Evander pissed in a cup.

I didn't answer the poll because Mike could be scared of Holyfield that's why he wanted to be sure they'll be on an even playing field.

Had they fought in the 80s its a different fight. Some ppl keep saying Evander had his number. Name a fighter in the history of the sport who was off 4 years and was every the same? 1992 he went to prison and even when he came back i thought he looked much slower in those fights before Evander. His speed was not the same.

Younger Mike wasn't just about power. He had great speed as well with combination punching and he would make you miss and counter. The 1996 version is slower, tires faster which leads to getting hit and his counterpunch speed was not the same. That timing was off.

You cant compare a boxer with a 4 year layoff vs how he was when he was young, active, sparring on a regular basis. Even Ali and Ray Leonard in there comebacks looked much slower. Maybe Evander can take a good Tyson shot, but the 1987 version is gonna nail Evander with 1,2, 3 shots in a row cause he was quicker back then. Not just 1 shot at a time.
