I really like Jeff Lacy. Sure he was somewhat over hyped and fought J.cal who had the worst style ever for him. But why do people still hate on the guy?
WHen he entered the pro ranks the middleweight division's were somewhat boring. You had hopkins defending for years and j.cal for years aswell. Lacy was this huge muscle man who ko'd everyone with reckless abadon. Even though he had terrible defence and his punches were swinging all over the place but he went out to entertain the fans and hurt his opponent. IMO he was to be boxings next superstar. After the reid fight it all went down hill. He fought J.cal and took over 1000 clean punches to loose by a wide wide UD. Everyone hated on him after that. How can you hate on a guy who took more punishment in 12 rounds that most fighter's do in a 10+ year career and he kept coming forward trying to land a few punches! THen he tore is rotator cuff and lost all power in his signature punch and eventually faded into nothing.
Why cant people remember him for entertaining the fans for a few years and bringing alot of exitement into boxing when it was much needed?
