Juanma Should be consider the #1 FW if/when he beats Marquez.

With this being his 3rd fight at the weight he would had beaten the #2, #6 and #9 FW. His resume at the weight would be great consider this is his 3rd fight at the weight. Then you add the other guys only fighting stiffs or like John inactive and boom.

and if Juanma KOs Marquez impresively he should be consider for the top 10 P4P.

Rafael Marquez is no longer a viable opponent anymore. He is shot. So, no. Marquez is not even ranked in pound for pound rankings. In fact, Marquez should not be ranked at featherweight to begin with. To be number 1, Juanma Lopez will have to beat Chris John. John is returning in December.

I agree with the first part of your thread. Don't agree with the P4P aspect of it. Marquez has been horribly inactive and is fighting out of his weight division. Don't be such a nuthugger dude.

I can see him being the number one FW and he'll probably be seen as a top ten P4P fighter, though I wouldn't really agree with it.

I don't see how he KOs Rafa impressively. Even if absolutely lays out Marquez, he, Rafa, is 35 years old, past prime fighter, who's never had the greatest of chins in his third weight class. TBH, I think Lopez should be disappointed if he can't stop Rafa.

This would be Juanmas 9th title ffight, 7th title defense. This would be the 4th Champ he has beaten, in his second weight class, and all of his 3 fights at FW will be against top 10 FW's.

              Thats P4P Material right there.

Marquez has had many hard fought bouts. He is not a defensive fighter so he has been getting hit a lot, more than his brother. In fact, he has been knocked out. He is definitely a shot fighter.

Juanma Lopez should be fighting Yuriokis Gamboa or Celestino Caballero instead. Those are the fights that will get him pound for pound rankings.

Yes. However, Marquez has not actually fought the best featherweights at featherweight. He a journeyman and a shot super bantamweight. Marquez is ranked in the top ten featherweights, but he should not be. He is not a proven featherweight.
