Actually Sanchez-Gomez was bigger than Gomez-Pintor. Sanchez-Gomez was the most hyped fight between a Mexican and Puerto Rican ever. Only Trinidad-De la Hoya passed it but De la Hoy is American. Both were big fights and great action but Sanchez-Gomez was bigger.

I don't know how old you are or if you remember the hype around Gomez at the time. What Sanchez did was remarkable. Not taking anything away from Gomez as the win over Pintor was great as well. There is a reason The Ring Magazine has Sanchez ranked #24 all time even with a shortened career and Gomez is #61 all time. Check out the ring top 80. Pretty nice list.

And if you were curious Tito Trinidad is the highest ranked Boricua ever (#50 ever) and Chavez Sr. (#18) the highest ranked Mexican ever.

That all being said I hope for a great fight Saturday but Lopez is stronger, faster, bigger, fresher and younger and I expect Juanma to pull off a TKO around round 7

Well acording to your home boy it was gomez vs pintor so he must be ****** rite?
But you do know that after gomez beat zarate a few fights later he took on sanchez. Gomez was coming of that big win and others and was looking unbeatable and had all the hype in the world going in to the fight with sanchez. Thats what makes it the biggest fight in the rivalary and also that gomez and sanchez are considered to be if not the best fighter out of their countries at the very least the second best.
