PPV and gate receipts are only a small gauge in estimating a fighter`s popularity, majority of people around the world, even in the US can`t afford such.

ill think about your advise. but damn, i never knew pac has very few fans in america.

you see, sweet jesus agree with the article.

btw, pac should learn to use twitter and face book then to become popular

That's ******ed. Honestly, some of my friends have no clue who Mayweather is and yet know who Pacquiao is. They don't even watch boxing and only know big names liek Tyson, Ali, and now Pacquiao. They don't know the likes of Paul Williams, Bradley, Alexander, or even Khan. Plus, don't forget that Mayweather's popularity increased a lot because of WWE and Pacquiao never was in such a show that would expose him world wide. Worldwide, Pacquiao is more famous and I would say even in America.

Now that I'm thinking about it, it's really sad that the general fan only knows two current active boxers. Pacquiao and Mayweather. They have no clue who Bradley, Alexander, Khan, Maidana, and other talents are.

Take a look at Google trends:

Pac is a superstar. Clearly not on Floyd's level but a superstar nonetheless.

Dont know about worldwide but Mayweather is more known and more popular in the part of the UK that i live in, Pac is more popular because of his own people (Filipinos who live outside of the phillipines), So whenever he goes to any country they would alway go and welcome him where ever he stays.

Boxing doesnt have a worldwide star at the moment since the days of Tyson and Ali, Not De la Hoya Not Mayweather and Definitely not Pacquiao would change that.
