Would Pac-Margarito fight be more legitimate if...

Pac came out and said "*** it, since we're both meeting in the middle I'll put up my Welterweight belt if you put up your Jr. Middleweight belt."

Is there any problem with that?

Welterweight is 141-147 pounds. Junior middle is 148-154.

150 is inside the JM limit and therefore a belt is allowed to be on the line. The commision rules don't allow a welterweight belt to be won (or defended) at 150 lbs.

Plus Margarito doesn't have a jr. middleweight belt to defend to begin with.

what do you mean by 'more' legitimate? It's was never legitimate in the first place. To answer your question for the sake of it - no.

          Thanks.

Just wanted to know if they could do it just for the hell of it.

          Rules are rules I suppose.

Margarito, neither Pacman owns a jr middleweight belt. The fact that their fighting for 1 will always be suspect,if Pacman wins it'll be called a new record,if Margarito wins,I believe he will continue to fight at 154,I hope he wins so this happens!!
