According to reports in the Dominican Republic, former champion Joan Guzman (30-0, 17KOs) will likely make his junior welterweight debut on December 2 in New York against Chris Fernandez (19-10, 12KOs). They were previously going to fight on November 5. The date has been postponed by nearly a month. Guzman has been out of the ring since a March decision win over Ali Funeka.
