Ross Greenburg: "Hopefully, 3rd time's a charm, we're still hopeful for Pac vs Floyd"

"We had two attempts at Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao and clearly, that was a fight that, if it could have been made, would have hit mainstream America hard. I mean, we were right on the cusp of something really special happening, and I'll tell you that I'm not giving up on it," said Greenburg.

"I think that a lot of things need to fall into place for that fight to happen. First and foremost, Manny Pacquiao has to survive Nov. 13 against a tough, big man in Antonio Margarito," said Greenburg. "And then, Floyd Mayweather has to clean up his personal life and the issues and whatever is going on in Las Vegas and then get back to the business of boxing."

Greenburg said that he would push for a bout early next year if Pacquiao wins, and Mayweather cleans up his act.

"Floyd Mayweather has to restore his image and his life a little bit. And then hopefully, in 2011, we can try that third bite at the apple. And then, maybe it will happen," said Greenburg (pictured at right). "But until then, you know, next to a Pacquiao-Mayweather fight, all that we can really do is what we're doing this fall, and that is to try to take the biggest stars in this sport and line them up and try to match them against each other."

Might as well have never happened. 7 day cut off doesn't equal no cutoff.

This fight isnt happening period, The sooner HBO get over it the better.
For the fight to happen: (1) Mayweather need to lower is demand of OST all the way up, But unless he needs money like he did in december i doubt he would ever lower is OST demand.

              (2) Pac agreeing to OST.

I'm not keeping my hopes high but it's good to know that he is still trying hard. Btw Ross do us a favor--if negotiations fail the third time and Ellerbe says there were no negotiations, please go ahead and knock him out for us.

Every time some mentions why this fight could fall apart, I always maintained it would be testing...nothing else. The money split is fine. Look, regardless of split Mayweather is gonna make more than Pacquiao so the only issue for him is if he wants them to up his purse. In the end, it will be testing. And as we ALL can see now, it was always the testing that was the issue. Who would've thought? Do you still believe Manny is clean now, Ray?

True. Totally unrealistic even from a fan with
a ***** IQ. Pac is a politician now. Floyd's gonna
have to beg for it if he wants it. That's obvious.
After all the BS the Pacman side had to go through
dealing with a primadonna. No, I don't think Arum
and friends would even mention the name Floyd
                    now.
