Comments Thread For: Ariza Admits: Pacquiao Needs Focus, Time is Running Out

Alex Ariza, the strength and conditioning coach of WBO welterweight champion Manny Pacquiao, admits that his fighter lacked the proper focus during the last few weeks of training. There were a lot of distractions on the Philippines. Ariza is hoping things can change now that Pacquiao's camp has switched to the Wild Card Gym in Los Angeles, California, but their time to make things right is running out.

    Ok..

    Obviously they're trying to
Make it seem like Margarito has a chance..this fight will be an easy night for Pac..and then they can brag even more after destroying Margs after the worst camp in Pacs career..

I agree that this is more of a marketing ploy to sell tix to a lopsided fight. PacMan set the terms for this fight, so you know there'll be a big ring...prob 22ft or so. He fights well backing up and Margarito does come forward, but not as fast as PacMan backs up. Of all Pacman's last 4 mega-fights, I was least excited when I heard of him fighting Margarito. It should be a Mosley vs. Margarito replay. Which, at least should be entertaining. Margarito has such a good chance, that you know it won't end too early.

Regardless, I'm going to be watching the fight at my wife's cousin's house who are filipino. So, you know who I'll be rooting for.

This sounds like they are starting to make their excuses ahead of time in because they are afraid that he might lose. If he wins and fights Mayweather next year, they will do the same thing a few weeks before fight time.

Weather it's hype or not. Manny better come in with great conditioning. We all know that marg stalks his opponent and wears them down with pressure.
