I think Pacquiao needs to be in top shape, most importantly. Tactically, he needs to be first and not focus on trying to counter Margarito too much. Margarito never throws just one punch and when he gets going, he can be hard to back up.

Margarito doesn't really counter punch. He waits for his opponent to finish punching and then tries to come right back. Reminds me a lot of Erik Morales in that respect, just not as fast and doesn't have the same sense of urgency.

People talk about Margarito's tendency to get hit but if you look back to the Cotto fight, a lot of the punches were taken by Margarito as he was backing up, which took some of the sting off them.

If Pacquiao isn't 101%, he will not win this fight. Margarito is very strong, even against welterweights.

pacquiao and freddie cannot avoid hearing this, if they think margarito doesn't have the skill and power because of the scandal, then they have already lost.

I think just an offensive strategy is not enough to beat Margarito
because of his resistance to punches. Mosley executed the perfect
strategy to beat Margarito which consists of defense, tying him up
and body punching. Just being faster and avoiding Margarito is only
going to make Pac tire down because he is going to have to stay
on the move and hit Margarito. Cintron, Cotto and Mosley are pretty
big punchers. Not sure if Pac has that power. If Margarito is anywhere
near the fighter he was against Cintron and Cotto, this could possibly
become an upset. Not trying to get too much into this fight because
after how the Pac/Clottey fight went down.
