If the fight is fixed, Margarito wins

I disagree. Bob gets wayyyyyyyyyyyyyy more money out of a Pac vs Mayweather fight, followed by a rematch, followed by a rubber match then he would ever make from Tony fighting Pac twice and rematching Cotto... and then fighting Khan, and then Cotto again, and then Foreman again, and then Cotto again or however Bob would work his lame ass in house bull****. Bob knows that Manny may be tired of Boxing and needs to milk him for all he can before Manny calls it a day. That road leads to Mayweather. That fight wont happen if Tony wins. That said, I dont think the fight is fixed, if only because even Bob knows Tony has no chance. Tony is yet another come forward, no defense, slow as ****, coming off a loss (in his last real fight) Arum fighter for Manny to beat and look great against.I'm so tired of reading all these idiotic threads claiming that this fight is fixed so Pacquaio can't lose. That makes no sense when you analyze it. First of all, the amount of money Margarito would make in his future fights if he were to win far exceeds what Arum (or whoever else) could possibly afford to pay him. Second, throughout boxing history there is one main reason fights have been fixed. That would be to make money betting on the underdog. Nobody is going to make big money ******** on Pacquaio. You could cash in very nicely betting on the heavy underdog here. Finally, if Margarito wins an exciting fight, the rematch would be HUGE. Don't tell me that Arum is protecting Pac for the mega fight with Mayweather. That fight has already failed to happen twice, and there are plenty of bad feeling with both sides. Not to mention that Floyd has some felony issues to deal with.
If Pacquaio wins big, what else is there for him? Nothing that would even come close to a rematch with the man who just beat him. Don't pretend that Manny is going to fight the Williams-Martinez winner. That just isn't happening for a number of reasons. As a disclaimer, I'm not saying that if Margarito wins the fight was fixed. But I am saying if the fight really is fixed, then Margarito wins. Think about it.Comment

you have to admit is at least su****ious the way Toprank went out of their way to make the Margarito fight happen after his license was rejected even going as far as threatening to fight in Monterey Mexico if he is not licence.
almost as if he was chosen and handpicked by Toprank for a reasonLast edited by Phenom; 10-28-2010, 07:27 PM.Comment

you don't have to be a Mayweather fan to think so..Comment

hahahahah so because puckiao runs away from blood tests it becomes a ploy from Mayweather? That fight is a money tree. If it could have been made, it would have already. These OST demands are just a BS negotiating ploy by Mayweather. They've failed to get the fight done twice when it would never have been hotter. Arum would have to be a fool to count on it happening next year, especially now that Floyd and his trainer are going on trial.
He's openly ducked margarita and Cotto in the past, if he wanted to duck pacquiao, he would have done the same. He wouldn't get involved in the negotiations, and agree to pacquiao's demands only to then come up with a demand that he 'knew' pacquiao would not agree to. I guess Mayweather comes from a long line of psychics..Comment

What other Top Rank fighter brings in more PPV sales with Pacquiao? Right or wrong, it seems apparent that Arum wants to promote both parties. That's why he turned to Margarito five minutes after the Mayweather fight was dead.you have to admit is at least su****ious the way Toprank went out of their way to make the Margarito fight happen after his license was rejected even going as far as threatening to fight in Monterey Mexico if he is not licence.

Summing it up, no matter who wins Top Rank promotes the winner. So with no real option (other than a not in demand Cotto rematch) for the promoter, I think the agenda is too transparent to even be called su****ious. It's a position that every promoter wants to be in.Comment

i have to agree with your assessment plus may i add, if such are fixed it would be strategically and logically and "should" be in favor of margs. business wise that is the most sensible of all plans arum can and will do as "diabolical" as he is. LOL, being as it may, he can put cotto in the equation. it will be all in house, what can be better than that? margs can rematch cotto or pacquiao, or cotto can rematch pacquiao or margs or arum can go all the way and make what we call "carambola" the three of them in 1 fight WWE style, the last man standing wins. (tongue in cheek) who needs floyd? do you think how much PPV would that generate?I'm so tired of reading all these idiotic threads claiming that this fight is fixed so Pacquaio can't lose.
