Irish vs Irish fights are dumb? Why would an irish want to root against another irish

My brother is going to that John Duddy vs Andy Lee fight and he is confused to who he should root for. He is a much bigger Duddy fan than Lee, he even said Andy Lee's name wrong. He said something like Andrew something but he had his name completely wrong. I had to correct him. I also gave him my honest assessment. I told him I felt Andy Lee will win, so he probably should be cheering for the underdog Duddy.

He also invited me to this fight, but I could care less about either of those fighters. Nothing special about them to me, Lee is only probably going to win because of his great trainer Emanuael Steward. I mean who the hell does Duddy have as a trainer and he was just completely outclassed by Chavez Jr. who was trained by Freddie Roach.

The silly thing is, my brother couldn't even say Andy Lee's name right. So why would he root for a guy he doesn't even know the name of?

Also, my brother got Duddy's story incorrect. I believe he thought it was Duddy's dad that died in bloody sunday unless I'm incorrect. Wasn't it Duddy's uncle?
