Wladimir Klitschko: I don't care about legacy

WLADIMIR KLITSCHKO reckons he will be boxing's answer to Wacko Jacko when he hangs up his gloves.

The IBF and WBO world heavyweight champion defends his titles against Dereck Chisora in December.

But many pundits are questioning a 55-3 record that has been bloated by fighting nobodies.

Londoner Chisora, 26, only turned pro three years ago and has had just 14 fights - and none of them even at European level.

But Klitschko, who wants a showdown with David Haye before he packs up, says his achievements will only be fully appreciated when he retires.

The Ukrainian, 34, said: "Look at Michael Jackson. He is an incredible artist but gained much more respect for what he achieved when he died.

"Generally, people get more respect after they are done.

"I will just continue my career and whoever is in front of me I will conquer."

Klitschko added: "I don't care about legacy - the critics who don't box do.

"I'm the one in the ring and I don't care what people say. I only care about my title, my performance and the challenge I'm facing.

"Whatever other people might think of me is secondary."

David Haye definitely doesn't either, look at the opposition Haye has fought at Heavy.

Titles, performances, and challenges are 3 important things that help define a legacy.

Looks like Wlad cares to me.

Yep it's pretty good for someone that has only had 4 fights at the weight.

4 but whose counting. obviously not Haye's number 1 fanboy. I understand why youd forget Bonin...he was only 34 years old at the time. Much younger than Hayes normal opponent.

Only 20 more fights to go against old shot fighters until haye challenges a retired Vitali and claims Vitali is ducking him right?
