Londoner Chisora, 26, only turned pro three years ago and has had just 14 fights - and none of them even at European level.
But Klitschko, who wants a showdown with David Haye before he packs up, says his achievements will only be fully appreciated when he retires.
The Ukrainian, 34, said: "Look at Michael Jackson. He is an incredible artist but gained much more respect for what he achieved when he died.
"Generally, people get more respect after they are done.
"I will just continue my career and whoever is in front of me I will conquer."
Klitschko added: "I don't care about legacy - the critics who don't box do.
"I'm the one in the ring and I don't care what people say. I only care about my title, my performance and the challenge I'm facing.
