His team just want it to start all over again, Get him a new corner and just start all over. It worked too.
Why didnt Wlad and Cory Sanders ever rematch?

Wlad became mandatory for the WBO belt, but Sanders vacated the belt and went on to fight in WBC.Comment

Which is not true, Wlad specifically became the mandatory for WBO so he could rematch Sanders. The timeline proves it too.Comment

Wlad was knocked out very brutally against Corrie. Its probably the worst loss of Wlad's career. It was brutal the way he was KO'd.
At that time, Wlad was still improving as a fighter, and he was kind of in a "rebuilding" phase. He needed a year or two, or three to rebuild himself and regain confidence. A rematch with the guy who just sparked him would have been a bad idea.
By 2005, Wlad would have been ready for a rematch, but by that time Corrie was much older, and Corrie had also been brutally beaten up by Vitali.
At that time a rematch didnt make sense, and thats why it never happened.Comment
