Yes, but most of the money is coming from Haye's end. Wlad's German TV contract is poor at best. Haye feels he is right to demand 100% of the British PPV revenue if Wlad refuses to enter negotiations with RTL for a new and improved contract. Lets face it, why fight Wlad for 50% of British PPV revenue, when he can fight Harrison for 80% of the PPV revenue? It's not like Wlad is hugely popular in the UK. Before Haye started talking about Wlad, not many people on these shores paid any attention to him or the HW division. So, while I want Haye to sign for the fight, I can understand his reasons for not doing so. It's not brave, selfless, or good for the sport, but purely from Haye's individual standpoint, it makes business sense to fight Harrison at the time being. Hopefully Haye will agree to a fight with the Klitschko's in 2011.
Why doesn't Wladimir give Haye what he wants?

Good points. Nobody cares about legacy anymore, Money comes first and legacy comes second.
IMO Haye's demands were not too unreasonable (Wlad keeps TV money from Germany, Haye keeps PPV sales from the UK). If thats all it takes, and you really want him so bad then you should pounce at that opportunity.Comment

I am a Huge fan of haye and much prefer his fighting style to that of the cloned Klitchko brothers ...but in all fairness even i cant defend Haye anymore...you ether wanna fight the best or not...and Haye is fighting Harrison for fcuk sake ...is he the best ??Comment

Haye needs the Klitschko's for his legacy. They dont need him. If Haye retires without fighting them, he'll just be remembered as a better looking version of Herbie Hide.Comment

Wlad and Vitali are longer-running champs, but it appears David Haye is bringing a lot more money to the table due to the fact that the Brits will be buying a PPV while K2 has a TV deal in Germany.
Let him keep the money. Take his belt and he wont be making any more.Last edited by paulf; 10-26-2010, 01:39 PM.Comment

If they did that then who knows, maybe Haye won't fight for less than an 80/20 split or 90/10.
The bottom line is Haye is rejecting an even split which is a fantastic offer and I don't see how anyone can't see this being 100% his fault for the fights not already having taken place.Comment

Haye isn't a contender.

Its like in american baseball. This Cleveland Indians sell 10,000 seats a night, but when the Yankees come to town, they sell 30,000 seats. Sure theyer all cleveland fans, but tehy sell 300% more seats because everyone wants to see the Yankees and root against them.Comment

Actually Wlad will be bringing a lot more money to the table than Haye. Just wait and see. i think they should do it like this, Haye gets whatever the fraudley vs. Haye fight makes total, and Wlad keeps the rest. Thats simple, then we can see how much Wlad brings to the table...which is a lot more than Haye. Haye isnt bringing the UK PPV numbers, a UK fighter fighting the CHAMP is bringing the numbers. Watch, even against a UK hero, he wont bring in close the ppv numbers Wlad would if he fought Haye.
