Comments Thread For: Mike Tyson: David Haye is Not Ready For The Klitschkos

According to former undisputed heavyweight champion Mike Tyson, more time is needed before WBA champion David Haye is physically ready to fight either of the Klitschko brothers. Tyson told BoxingScene.com's Rick Reeno that Haye needs to be more active and fight several times per year.

Haye would never fight 7 times a year.

Instead of taking Tyson's advice, David Hayte is getting ready to retire. Hayte doesn't like fighting -- that is the problem.

            Agreed.

I can't wait until he gets stomped by them

Mike has always been a good student of the game. If HE had a better voice He could out do any announcer today. I remember his few times behind the mic and if you could ignore his goofy voice you heard solid oppinions from him.
He's right on his view of Haye. He's fast but too small for the giants.

it would be a good advice perhaps if Haye didn't want to retire in the next year, cause that doesn't leave much time, in fact, it doesn't leave more than 3 fights in the best case : the bros and a mandatory, so there is no time for 5Klitschko past opponents

and anyway, Haye has proven his worth already at CW and against 3 ordinary fighters at HW, he doesn't need more seasoning, he has been barking, so he should just fight the bros right now

Tyson doesn't seem aware that Haye is about to retire, or he doesn't believe none of that ($$$)

why is he too small ?

                  he's 6'3 and 220 lbs

Brewster and Sanders were 6'1, 6'4 and 225lbs

size can become a disadvantage if one fights the right fight against a giant

Ive never seen Sanders react so poorly to taking a jab from another HW. Haye seems to be knocked back by any punch landed on him. He made John Ruiz look like prime Tua. Haye has no shot, even he knows it. He doesnt like fighting, the Klitschko's love it, thats why Vitali will fight into his 40's and Haye is retiring at 31. Thats why Wlad will have close to 70 fights and Haye will be around 30. You gotta love it and want it and Haye doesnt. He cherry picked a fallen Valuev. He beat a John Ruiz who had no business coming out of retirement and he beat a washed up bum in Barrett. I mean, I think Briggs beats all of those guys with ease.

Haye's manager has convinced him that he will get brain damage from fighting too much and taking too much of a beating. Sorry, when you have that mindset how many Wlad jabs are you going to walk through to try to get to his chin? How many punches of Vitali's are you going to trade with him? Boxing is just as much mental as it is physical. On one hand you have the Klitschko's who love to box, are insanely (and rightfully so) confident, and both have shown big heart in the ring. On the other hand you have Haye...who doesnt like to box, seems very unconfident, and to me has never shown some giant heart in the ring.

Then physically he is too weak. IDK if its too much time int he cruisers or what. He just doesnt take punches well. Barrett knocked him down. And lets get one thing straight about that Barrett fight, it was a joke. Barrett fell over the rope while trying to get int he ring. Dude didnt even know what was going on. By all reports he was hungry, literally, wasnt given money for food. Barrett still caught Haye. So haye vs either klitschko, Klitschko's have size, power, experience, confidence, heart, and Haye...Haye has some speed? Sorry, people act like this would be a good fight, but I dont see it.

Tysons completely right, Haye would need about 2-3 years of fighting 3-4 HW contenders to be ready, but hes not interested inthat. I personally think after Audley he has 2 more fights. Im thinking possibly Chagaev and Jones and he'll call it a career.
