176 is too high, I don't care what anyone says. Yeah, you can lose water weight pretty fast, but that's not the right way to drop weight and it will hurt you in the fight because you're damaging your organs dropping weight that fast.

    Will he make weight?

Probably, but whether or not his body is in prime shape is another matter.

You know there will be a follow up in two weeks in which sergio is below 165lbs. I really wish they would release more reports like this so you guys would realize this isn't as bad as what most people on here are making it out to be.

You guys talking this losing 20 pounds in a month stuff is insane must have never really hit the gym up for any extensive amount of time...no offense intended either. I'm no boxer but I can lose 5 pounds of fat in less than 2 weeks with moderate cardio training. It's not bad if you have good genetics and you work hard. Sergio's genetics are very, very good....he is a lucky dude.
What are you Mathed? His mama or his gynocologist? How you know anything bout that man's genetics? Sounds alot like riding to me bruh.

Bottom line is dude has been fighting a while now and he knows his body better than anyone else does. This is also the first time they have done this pre fight weight thing a month before the fight and advertised it for Martinez because it is perceived as the biggest fight of his career or whatever. For all we know, he loses 20 pounds or 15 pounds a month out every time out...why would he do something detrimental to his success in the biggest fight of his career and not even seem concerned about it? I highly doubt he is taking Williams lightly either...just saying....it would not even seem logical to do that and he seems like a pretty dedicated guy, I'm sure he knows what he is doing.

I think these next 4 weeks will be based on weight. That helps Paul imo because Paul can spend his time getting ready and preparing for Martinez's style.

By the way the 20 pounds should not be a problem for Martinez I know it because I myself have done it, and easy

I think he'll be 157 on the dot no doubt but I dont think he will be able to go balls to the wall for 12 rounds. its going to be an interesting fight for sure.

I know fighters lose a lot of weight. Hell Baldi walked around at 190 and Hatton was at 185 or more several times.

But 20 pounds 4 weeks out might be risky.

I totally agree with you on that. But making the weight wont be that hard, planing and traning for his strategy will probably be a bit hard

Serg is gonna be cutting weight and training to uphold a "Gameplan". He doesn't need to be worried bout both at the sametime. Please ya'll dont start acting like all ya'll do is watch fights and not dabble in the inner workings of what it takes for these men to get in the ring in the 1st place.
