Isn't the point meant to be that the gap between divisions steadily increases as you go upwards to abide by the theory that the smaller you are the more a few lbs matter? Then how come the gap between super middle and light heavy is actually smaller than the gap between middle and super middle, and the gap between light flyweight and flyweight is 4 whole lbs, then only 3lbs to super fly and 3lbs to bantam again. And the jump from light heavy to cruiser is absolutely massive in comparison to the jump from super middle to light heavy - following the pattern established between the other divisions you could fit two or three more inbetween 175lbs and 200lbs.
Actually I can guess why: to maintain the traditional weight limits of the 'classic' divisions, but it seems suboptimal and biased against fighters belonging to certain divisions.
Sorry for the boring thread LOL, but I've typed it out now so I might as well post it.
