Filipino Boxer Manny 'Pacman' Pacquiao To Receive Proclamation>
SAN DIEGO -- San Diego City Councilmen Carl DeMaio and Tony Young are scheduled to present a proclamation to boxer Manny Pacquiao today, declaring it Manny "Pacman" Pacquiao Day in San Diego.
The proclamation will be presented during a charitable basketball game at Mira Mesa High School.
Pacquiao, who is also a newly elected congressman in the Philippines, is being recognized for his humanitarian and charitable efforts within the Filipino community.
"We are honored to have Congressman Pacquiao visit San Diego," Young said in a statement. "His great humanitarian and civic efforts are internationally renowned and we applaud his efforts here in the city of San Diego."
