OMG no Tony Canzoneri??? He is was one of boxing's first 3 weight division champions in a era where there was only 8 divisions. I think Canzoneri is the only one you can make good case against Marciano. Honorable mentions, Lamotta, Graziano, Primo Carnera (although many of his fights were fixed)

I thought Willie Pep was of Greek heritage? If he was Italian than he is the best hands down.

Edit: I knew his last name was like Papaleo, i thought it was greek, but he is listed as italian american. Kind of suprised he shorten his name to pep as there were other italian american fighters who used their full names.

Calzaghe, if he hasnt already, would have 0 trouble getting Italian citizenship. In fact I think you only need to be 25% Italian to get it these days due to the declining population.
