Oscar De la Hoya vs. Ike Quartey

Just wanted to find out how many of you out there felt that Ike Quartey actually won his fight against Oscar gay La Hoya????? I personally feel that Quartey won the fight as he was controlling La Hoya with his jab. Although Oscar did come on in the twelth round and had him in the corner throwing girly punches etc. The fight at most should have been declared a draw. Maybe if it were not a title fight it could have gone to de la hoya but I always thought that you had to take the champs title not just do enough to last or win by a small margin.

To me the fight was absolutely positively on the table going into the 12th, too me the winner of that round was the winner of the fight.

Oscar came out and obliterated Ike in the 12th, imagine if Ike knocked Oscar down twice and then lost the decision, you would have people screaming at Oscar saying he stole the fight.

Sure it was close but when a fight is that damn close and you go out in the 12th and final round and get smocked I dont think you can be proclaiming that you were screwed.

If the fight had gone exactly the other way and Oscar would have been given the decison then you would have people to this day screaming bloody murder and they would have a case too!

Oscar squeaked it out and he earned it I might add with one helluva 12th round!

I was amazed that the ref did not stop the fight when Ike was getting the hell beaten out of him in the corner! I would say that Oscar won the fight.

Ike beat Oscar hands down. He controlled DLH with the jab for most of the fight. The HBO cheerleaders would've had you think Quartey took a beating that fight. DLH's face looked like a beaten man and in the post interview with DLH he said there would be no rematch. He didn't want anything to do with him.

I'm no hater of DLH or Tito. Just called the fight the way I saw it without being influenced by Foreman or Lampley. Look at DLH's face at the end of the fight; he new he got a gift from the judges. Especially one judge had it 116-112 for DLH. That's just B.S.
