Come off it Burner, NBA and NFL have been around scooping up great athletes for decades.

You can't all the sudden start blaming them now.

After Tyson name a black heavyweight that captured the AA community like that?

      Holyfield? Nope. Bowe? Nope.

The end of Tyson was the rise of Michael Jordan. People forget that. NBA and NFL is king with the black community. Man every big kid or olde rkid or teen that has some size is either playing football or basketball. No one wants to grow up and be Heavyweight champ anymore. Those days are long gone.

People underestimate the impact Michael Jordan had on the Black community.

Yeah, damn the NBA for taking America's 7 foot tall future heavyweight champs. It wasn't like this back in the 70s, that's for sure.

By the way, can I claim that all of Britains, nay Europe's, best middles and suppermiddles are in the Premiere League? Sheeet, if it wasn't for soccer, Roy Jones, James Toney and Bernard Hopkins would be mere footnotes.

Basketball wasnt as popular among blacks in the 70's as it was in the 90's

Very few NBA players are 7 feet tall. Most are around the same height as the Klitchkos. Sure, you can claim all that but I think throughout history we know African Americans are far more athletic and just have better genetics(longer arms, more coordinated) than whites. Aren't the best soccer players black? I'm saying this as a white person btw.

There are still FAR more black heavyweights than white heavyweights.

Most of these 413 are black: http://boxrec.com/ratings.php?countr...us=A&SUBMIT=Go

Plus there's many black heavyweights from African countries and some from Latin American countries (Solis, Gomez, etc) and European countries (Skelton, Sprott, Levin, etc).

There are at least 25,000,000 big men in the US between age 20 and 39, including at least 3,000,000 black men that size and age. But there's only a total of about 1000 or fewer in the NFL plus the NBA.

Where are the other 24,999,000 big American men? Where are the other 3,299,000 black American men of that size between 20 and 40?

I think you're being unfair to Evander. He's an icon and legend of the sport. Tyson is a once in a lifetime phenomenon so I think that argument is retroactive.

Bowe could have been great if he didn't love cheeseburgers so much. Who can blame him though, cheeseburgers are excellent.
