Ive heard this too and that Tony was so weak that Capetillo panicked and created the dodgy wraps. Mosley's style is still wrong for him though

yeah and this isn't to make an excuse I think Tony would have lost that night regardless of what transpired

It wasn’t a weight-drain issue, it was that Mosley was on steroids the night they fought.

Mosley had cheated and gave a misleading performance when he fought Margarito, cause he used PED's.

The illegal/banned stamina booster-EPO helped Mosley have unfair advantages over Margarito.

That’s the reason why the fight was moved from Las Vegas (Nevada), to Los Angeles (California), because Nevada was gonna test Mosley for EPO, prior to fighting Margarito.

Originally the Margarito-Mosley fight was gonna taken place in Nevada, but about 7-8 weeks before their Jan. 23rd fight, a Federal Judge (out of concern for Margarito’s well-being) released Mosley EPO blood-doping calendar to the public, so that everyone can see how Mosley injects EPO through his stomach, and on which days he takes them, so that it does not come out in urine tests.

After Mosley EPO blood doping calendar went public, Nevada boxing commissioner-Keith Kizer warned Mosley that he would be blood tested for EPO prior to fighting Margarito.

So, Mosley, concerned that he would get caught using EPO, told his business partners and promoters-Oscar and Richard Schaeffer to have the fight moved from Nevada to California, where Mosley had the full satisfaction of knowing that he would not get caught using EPO.

The newer strains of EPO can only be caught with blood tests, within 44 hrs. of use, and California DOES NOT do blood tests. California only does post-fight urine tests (which DOES NOT catch EPO).

This is why Margarito tried to use plaster inserts, cause he and his team, all knew that Mosley was “juiced-up” with EPO Steroids/Hormones that night and would not get caught.

and this is also why the California, then, commissioners allowed Margarito to try to use plaster inserts, cause they all knew that Margarito was being taken advantage of, and even Margarito’s very own promoter-Bob Arum, knew of Mosley’s “dirty” plot of having used EPO, but Arum “turned a blind eye” away, cause he was gonna profit, thanks to Oscar’s corrupt assurance, from the subsequent mega-fight (Mayweather-Mosley), which turned out to be a lackluster fight, cause the public was mislead by Mosley steroid performance prior, and thought they would see the same Mosley against Mayweather, as they saw him against Margarito.

It's funny how ya'll make excuses for certain fighters.

this is funny because some of these pac fans like to say that a catchweight of 150 shouldn't affect margo bein that he fought most of his fights at ww yet at the same time they believe he was weight drained for his last 147 fight

this has been told way before it was on HBO

don't know why you find it so hard to believe.
                    Tony hasn't been 185 in his life....much less 180..

                    Live in the real world.

Ya'll need to stop TRYING to steal that victory from Shane....and I know why..

Yeah, he did. If anything, he probably looked a tad skinnier than he did in the Cotto fight...but weight-drained...? Mmm, I don't think so.

They mentioned he had to lose 35 pounds in 7 weeks? Is it that bad? Seriously? Isn't that what a full training camp consists of? Probably 2 months (8 weeks)?

I'm no nutritionist, but 35 pounds for a boxer to lose in 7 weeks doesn't seem that difficult, to me it seems that it can be done rather comfortably.

Actually, now that I think about it, it might be a little rigorous. 5 pounds per week is nasty. But then again, that's just me. A boxer should be able to lose more (being accustomed to hard training and all).
