At the Erdgas Arena in Riesa, Sachsen, Germany, cruiserweights Alexander Petkovic (39-4-4, 20 KOs) and Timo Hoffmann (39-7-2, 23 KOs) fought to a twelve round majority decision draw. The WBO's European title was at stake, and the belt will continue to remain vacant. Petkovic at 6'3, was much smaller than the near 6'8 Hoffmann, but used his much faster hands to land punches and his movement troubled Hoffmann, who often was too slow to get off with his punches.
