At the Civic Auditorium in Glendale, California, Khabir “The Crazy Russian” Suleymanov (11-0, 5KOs) captured th vacant NABO bantamweight titles after stopping Javier Gallo in the ninth round of their fight. Suleymanov was in total control from the first round and battered Gallo as the fight played out. In the ninth, a right hand decked Gallo hard. He beat the count, but the referee felt he was in no condition to continue taking punishment. Suleymanov gets his second win of the year, while snapping the four fight winning streak of Gallo.
