y do fighters come in OVERWEIGHT for VK

i was just wondering why fighters seem to come in at there hightest weight ever to fight VK (K.Johnson,Lewis,Sanders, and now danny williams) is it because they see him as a easy fight, or do they think the extra weight will help? i know Kirk johnson thought his weight didn't matter he because he was just too good and quick for VK, and lewis thought the same. what do u think?

Maybe it's Vit scheduling lardasses for his fights. That seems to be the case with at least Johnson...

Williams isn't all that heavy; I don't think if he loses tonight he can use that as an excuse. Danny was heavy for the Tyson fight and that helped tire Mike when he leaned on him.

Vitali needs to fight ANY legitimate Top 10 opponent.

I would like to see him call out Chris Byrd and ask for a chance to avenge his loss. It's good for the division.

I think he beats Chris Byrd, though, and Ruiz or Rahman (supposedly his next mandatory) have a better shot at beating him.

If he still won't fight a King fighter, though, the best bets are a medically cleared Joe Mesi or James Toney.

....I have addressed this many times before and I always say the same thing. They don't feel like they have a chance unless they have more weight to combat his weight and strength. They are gonna try and test his chin because they don't feel like they have a chance if the fight goes longer than say 6 rounds. It could also be a case of them heading to the gallows and enjoying their last meals to the fullest.

Vitaliy has fought top 10 opponenets in the last two years. It is a matter of time before we see Vitaliy-Byrd II and Vitaliy-Ruiz.

Exactly! When people discount Vitaliy's victory over Johnson, they forget that the bout lasted only 2 rounds. The extra weight that KJ had put on unlikely had an impact on the frst two rounds. The extra weight would have been a huge factor if the fight had gone for 8 or more rounds, but it had not.

I think KJ thought that the fight was not going to go the distance and extra weight did not bother him.

                  becuz hes so big
that they have to come in heaveier
the added weight prolly adds a lil to their hit as well
if they come in their normal weight
he can just out muscle them
and even tho they come in heavy he can still pretty much out muscle them

If Vitaly fights someone like Byrd, Byrd will not gain 10 pounds for the sake of having extra weight.

The last two fighters relied on their one punch power because it was their only chance. Williams is the same way.

Right now, there are not a lot of boxers that think can out box Vitaly and win a decision. However, there are quite a few that think they can knock Vitaly out.
