Looks like IBF HW eliminator may have Chambers-Harris & Rossy-Banks

First Denis Boytsov, who is coming off surgery, announced he would not be able to participate in the IBF four-fighter eliminator on the advice of his doctor.

Recently, Alexander Dimitrenko said he will instead pursue a fight with Albert Sosnowski for the European title.

And Jean-Marc Mormeck has his sights set on a rematch with David Haye for the WBA title, so he will probably fight WBA-ranked Hasim Rahman on Dec 2 in France.

So it looks like the opening round will be Derek Rossy vs. Jonathan Banks and Eddie Chambers vs. Maurice Harris.

Rossy and Banks were already in discussions for a fight earlier this year, and Harris seems like the ideal opponent for Chambers coming off the KO loss to Wladimir Klitschko.

Is Harris any good? I've never seen him. Chambers should win this tournament easily, but I don't think a rematch against Wlad would go any differently than the first time.

sorry, but the winner of these fighters won't be worthy enough to challenge Wlad.

Harris had a lot of losses early in his career, he had no amateur background. But he seems to have improved in recent years, and is on a modest winning streak.

He has a KO win over Sergei Lyakhovich, and decision wins over Nagy Aguilera and Robert Hawkins.

Harris has a SD loss to a very old Larry Holmes, and KO losses to Tye Fields and Henry Akinwande.

It would be better if Povetkin and Haye entered this tournament. Chambers gets to have his rematch with Povetkin and Haye gets to finally to prove if he has what it takes to beat Wladimir. As for Rossy, he's not that good.

But I do like this matchup, and I expect Chambers to win the tournment.

Yes, Chambers is clearly the best of these four. He's already defeated Rossy.

Boytsov would have made it more interesting, but it good that ranked contenders/fringe contenders will be fighting other ranked contenders/fringe contenders instead of fighting clubfighters.
