In no way was I trying to make this kid out to be a "world beater" and apologize if that's how it came across. But no, I can't and won't simply discard the Greene matchup as Greene just being this wet-behind-the-ears, inexperienced style that Vanes could easily exploit. I'm sure you are aware that they were tit for tat in the amateurs and many insiders actually tagged Greene to be a much better pro. Hindsight allows us to brush off Greene as such, but that's not reality when you would have viewed the matchup, styles and their amateur background/friendship/(fierce competition) pre-fight! But one thing's for certain, just strip away all the window dressing and the main point still remains: We both agree that the use of "bum" by previous posters on this thread was an uneducated and misinformed comment.

      Much respect bro-
      thanks bro

      the highlighted can be debated.

      1. for starters when assessing kids in amateur programs it's fair to say who will transition as a pro better when look at the styles. Greene was thought to be made for the pros I think moreso because he didn't fit around the amateur system not because his style screamed of a good pro waiting to happen. He was raw and seemed content to load up way too much, wading in until his opponents succumbed to his pressure

      2. a lot of what was written about Greene was based in the East Coast and while there is a lot of good to decent fighters there, the tendancy is for them to get hyped up way too quickly because of the proximity of boxing writers around them

a lot of the same people who thought highly of Greene also through highly of the Chin Checkers, Jeffrey Resto etc

I gonna follow this story. I think Vanes is gonna end up eating his words. By the time Pacquiao makes it to the Wild Card Gym, he would have already regained his speed and power. I won't be surprised if an article comes up saying Vanes got schooled and beaten up in sparring -just like how Tapia ended up with a bloody nose. Glen Tapia is cool. He's not ****y, willing to learn, and does his job as instructed. He probably learned alot during his training with Pacquiao.
