Vitali was up 5-1 or 6-0 in rounds in reality at the end. The referee should have disqualified Lewis for using the laces of his gloves to open cuts on Vitali's face in the clinch.

I would say he was up by at least seven or eight rounds, personally. I also think Lewis should have been disqualified for using the leather of the front of his glove and the muscles in his right arm to open cuts on Vitali's face.

This topic is brought up like every six months. For the love of God, let it go. You are what your record says you are. Vitali gave a great fight against Lennox and who knows what would have happened. It appeared to me that Lewis was fatigued but also crafty. While Vitali was consistently throwing, oft-times scoring and oft-times not, Lewis was landing well-placed shots that did damage. Vitali takes a great shot but his face was being rearranged. My friends, his eyelid was about to fall off. Can you imagine what one more Lewis right in the seventh might've done to him? My God. That was as just a TKO6 as they come.

definitely, Lewis is such a dirty fighter

I scored all the rounds in Vitali's favor and 10-8 on top of it

Do you watch this fight drunk or something? There were no cuts on Vitali's face in the first 2 rounds. Blood was not drawn untill this particular right hand:

The pressure from that punch caused a small explosion above Vitali's eye. You see blood immediately after. Clear as day.

Sadly thats exactly how these fangirls think. There are a half dozen press photos of Lennox pounding Vitali clean in the face, yet they contend it was laces and headbutts! Seen the fight 30 times and cant find clear evidence of either.

Lewis was coming off the KO win over Tyson. In the Lewis/Tyson post fight interview Lewis stated "I'm like fine wine, I get better with age"

In an interview right before the Vitali fight, Lewis said "I'm at the peak of my powers, I will keep fighting for a few more years"

Vitali dominated Lewis and scared him into retirement. That's a FACT.
**** yeah Lewis HIMSELF said this! Is the OP Lennox Lewis? I think not!

Lewis said he was like a wine. lewis himself held the belt ransom for the best part of a year. lewis himself refused the remath. Vitali took the fight @ 10 days notice. Vitali was winning.

No biad, no opinions; those are the facts. Speculate all you like but big V was winning and was stopped on cuts - he was not 'beaten' a soft tissue tear prevented him from finishing a fight he was winning.......

The damage done by Lewis required 60 stitches and plastic surgery to repair. Name any other fight where a guy "dominated" his opponent and ended up looking like he'd fell face first into a combine harvester.

One more thing....you do know that being ahead on the scorecards only matters if the fight actually goes to the scorecards, don't ya?
