Sparring between Tony and Sergio would be good for Tony... but then again, they may face each other if Tony takes this.

eaner, whats the deal with the rumors I heard about trout giving margs hall and back?

I don't know if this is appropriate, but how does his chin look? i heard trout stopped him in his tracks (not a kd but stunned him)

Austin Trout is rated really highly by one or two of the governing bodies. I've never seen him fight though, is he any good? Any better than the other 154 young contenders?

actually they have been quite friendly whenever they cross paths since they both train within a few miles of each other

I actually heard that about his sparring with Martinez. it was this past Saturday and he went 5 with him. From accounts Austin really put a hurt on Maravilla and when they were to go one more they said no to Austin

the reasons I liked Austin for sparring even though he is big show big time

              1. he is really skilled. Good footwork and really good handspeed he has a lot of tools that give Tony good looks inspite of his size

              2. I needed someone who can crack a bit. It would be nice to have a Valero or Judah but one is dead and the other had no interest in sparring Tony. Austin provides really good power, legit 154lb power. We had small guys (KC Mookie and Ricardo) who give Tony handspeed and quickness but we needed to test Tony's chin

              3. Austin throws a really nice straight left. It's perfect and comes from a low angle, similar to where Manny launches his. That muscle memory is needed when Tony goes into battle with Manny.

              4. Austin has a point to prove. He feels, and rightfully so, that he belongs on the short list of guys that can be considered threats at 154 and by doing well against Tony his legacy grows. Adding Sergio and Lucas and you have a guy ready for his eliminator Dec 4th

short of Mercito Gesta and Judah there isn't anyone who can remotely mimick Manny so with that in mind we brought aspects we felt Tony would see in each guy

who knows it could all go for not if Tony is as done as people make him out to be lol

but we did what we had to do in order to get him as ready as possible

For real? I dont know if i like Austin as much for Sergio as Margs cuz he's strong but not sure if his style is pwill. if they are just looking for tough sparring and pop (not pwill who is more thudding and volume)

ya know, i was worried cuz he hasn't fought in 2010 so i didn't know how sharp he would be even though he fought 5-6 times last year. why no fights in 2010?

                2. I needed someone who can crack a bit. It would be nice to have a Valero or Judah but one is dead and the other had no interest in sparring Tony. heard. ricardo definitely ain't crackin but is austin a one punch guy? you would know waaay better than me

                true dat

that year off hurt, but 154 is deep right now, he needs to get out there and get some names on his resume. he's had 21 fights and is pretty high profile. he needs to avoid being thought of as just a badass gym fighter like the rep olafabi has

short of Mercito Gesta and Judah there isn't anyone who can remotely mimick Manny so with that in mind we brought aspects we felt Tony would see in each guy

im sure, ya'll seem to be some professional fools. i think there's something to be said for him getting busted the night he fought shane and its effects that night,m i just think he needs some more tuneups, but hey you cant pass up the dough

@walt Austin is not one punch but he cracks harder than anyone else in camp and lands clean. He had some managerial issues which he is now clear of so thats why no fights in 2010
