The Philippines was colonized by Spain. That makes them a Latin country when you consider a good portion of their language has Spanish in it. Some areas have more Spanish words than others. So, technically, Philippines COULD be considered a Latin country.

I've started a thread asking this.....it seems that the definition of a latin country is countries in the American Southern Hemisphere that speaks Spanish...but then a lot of the countries in the South speaks Portugese like Brazil. So does that make them a latin country? The definition is actually vague and incomplete....why does it have to be "speaking Spanish only", when most Latinos in the U.S. are called Latinos but doesn't know how to speak spanish. If the definition adding "Spanish blood" in them, that will make Filipinos latinos too......whichmakes it even more confusing coz the Philippines is in the Far East.

      hayayay!

wrong, no one will ever consider them Latinos, no one wants too, and just cause it was owned by Spanish doesnt mean they are Latinos.

The "Latino" word is wrong, IMO. No one speaks Latin. And if anyone were to be really called Latino, it would be the Greeks since their language the closest thing to Latin. Who labelled that area "Latin America" anyway?
