Comments Thread For: Boxing Insiders Not Sold on Margarito Beating Pacquiao

When it was announced that Manny Pacquiao would be moving up in weight to challenge Antonio Margarito for the vacant WBC junior middleweight crown, the contest was initially met with disappointment. Pacquiao had just teased us with another stage of negotiations with Floyd Mayweather and settling for Margarito, a fighter still recovering from the hand wrap controversy that rocked his career in early 2009, as a replacement wasn’t the easiest proposition to accept. Vegas sports books later tabbed Margarito as nearly a 7-1 underdog in what some looked at as a mismatch of a fight.

Sure. These are the same "Insiders" that thought Cotto, Hatton, Fishnets was too BIG and too Strong. It's the same as tossing a coin then bet.

This is what happens when less is expected of great fighters!!Hopefully Margarito has enough left to put up a decent fight!!If the battering that Mosley gave him is far past,Margarito will be trouble!!They talk about Pacman's hand & footspeed, but he still get hits a lot & Margarito isn't shy about firing!!

Am glad to see not all media is buying in too this HYPED UP tuneup. It is What it is, a tuneup fight before the big showdown and every UNBIAS boxing fan knows what it is after watching both fighters last few fights.
It is also a slap in the face of the integrity of Boxing and Boxers who have made history in this sport with clean hands. In a warrior battle HONOR gives credibility and significance and this fight lacks all the mayor ingredients of the great battle Bob Arum and the media He buys are trying to represent.
Clearly is a battle of a SuperStar/suspected Juicer against the worse cheater they could find today; and it's definably moreshameful than honorable for the sport of Boxing.

I'm not buying it, and I'm not buying it. Period

What's your opinion on Floyd Vs Balco..erm..Mosley Fight? Does that go into the slap in the face of the integrity of Boxing and Boxers? How about asking for OST which was never required by the commission, isn't that a slap on the commission and the whole boxing as well?

              Unbiased boxing fan my ass.

Unfortunately promoters dictate the fight in the case of roidy. Then some other fights are dictated by the lack of balls. While some other were "delayed" due to their cash cow status.

                I'll answer your question:
In regards to that fight, I thought Floyd finally stepped up to the plate and fought the top of his division. Mosley tripped with Balco years before, but (unlike Superstars) He agreed to all of the testing demands and signed the contract and at least we know that When Floyd fought Mosley, He beat one of the best in his division IN A CLEAN FIGHT and gain my respect by making one of the best welterweights look old and finished.
IMO, Floyd earned a little more respect in my book and He earn full credit for that honorable win. No catchweights, NO advantages. He won in even grounds.

Did you hear me praise roidman? Nope. I just come here and bust you closet bigots. You speak of UNBIASED yet it was the opposite.

The response is even more of a BIASED opinion:
Mosley tripped with Balco years before, but (unlike Superstars) He agreed to all of the testing demands and signed the contract and at least we know that When Floyd fought Mosley

Where's the "innocent until proven guilty" there? And who's your ROID allegation source? Floyd Mayweather Sr. And when did you think Manny's fights were not, by your words, CLEAN FIGHT? When Sr. Said so. Now that's BIASED and not only that, you're following a bandwagon. Pathetic.
