Comments Thread For: Tempers Erupt: Klitschko, Chisora Trade Words Over Briggs

When heavyweights Wladimir Klitschko and Derek Chisora met face to face in the UK, they traded some harsh words over last Saturday's performance of Shannon Briggs. Klitschko tried to praise Briggs for showcasing a brave effort by lasting a full twelve rounds of punishment at the hands of his older brother, WBC champion Vitali Klitschko. On December 11, Wladimir will defend his WBO/IBO/IBF titles against Chisora.

Vitali went to visit and check up on Briggs in the hospital the morning after the fight....Briggs has gained ALOT of respect from the German fans and media for that brave but painful 36 minutes....Wlad is right with puttin' Del Boy in his place and acknowledging Shannon's courage....much props to the champ...pure class!

I guess anyone can be a Heavy Weight fighter by just
being Heavy. The Klitscho's win because their big guys
but athletic and display skill. At some point these Heavy
Weights got lazy and just felt that being fat and throwing
one punch, looking for the big one punch KO was the way
to go. Why can't these guys give up the snacks and train?
I'm sure if all the Heavy Weights in the division were in great
shape and trained, that they would give the Klitscho's a
better run for their money. Look at young, fat ass Chris
Arreola. All the talent and power is there but homie
is too fat and greedy to get in real shape and become
a heavy hitter in the sport. I think in Boxing nowadays
that alot of these young fighters want the easy big payday
and the guys who been in the game for a long time just
want a big payday because their run is about done. I say,
        shape up or ship out.

regardless of what del boy says i have massive respect for briggs for how he kept coming forward, admittedly he was a sitting duck and just taking shots, but my hat is tipped to fighters that wont stop unless physically stopped, but mentally will never give in.....Del boy is just a little naieve with what he is saying but i believe he means it, he probably does think Briggs is a waste of space because i think del boy will come to fight Wlad and will want to try and wobble him, i dont think he will just come to get a beating, but in the end i think he will take a massive beating and probably gain a lot of respect for Briggs afterwards....i hope he doesnt because he manages to K.O Wlad and his robotic style of punch, run and cuddle, but i dont think he has the tools to get shots on Wlads chin and whilst Wlad has a chin like Khan , Del Boy isnt a deadly puncher like Haye...i just pray Del Boy beats Wlad but i'm not betting on it

Personally I think Briggs was a complete fool in that fight, he could of ended up like Michael Watson or gerald McCLellan.

I don't get what was Vitali thinking throughout the fight he could of finished him of at any time, but he chose not to why?

Respect to Chisora for saying what a lot of people are thinking. Problem is its not them that makes boxing stink.

Its fat, lazy boxers with no skills that make it stink cos they bring no GAME. I mean Wlad and Vitali aren't exactly like watching a basketball game but you know I like baseball sometimes.
